ART WARS objective is to illustrate (literally) the vitality of art and the creative process to communities through an entertaining competitive atmosphere. This unique event, created, directed, and hosted by nationally acclaimed artist Timm Kurtz, currently features the following competitions:
- SQUIGGLE! A 1.5 hour line art - cartooning event!
- PAINT IT! A 2.0 Painting Competition
- GRAFFITI THIS! An awesome 2 hour aerosol art performance - street style!
- QUICK DRAW - LAST ARTIST STANDING! The finale to see who will beat acclaimed artist and Art Wars founder Timm Kurtz for bragging rights as One Hardcore Artist!

HOST AN ART WARS EVENT!
ART WARS competitions are vigorous and entertaining, complete with staging, music, and emcee. Each competition pits finalist’s against one another in a raw display of spontaneous creativity requiring quick thinking and exceptional art skills! Winners will be decided after each event by tallying scorecards from THE AUDIENCE at the end of each contest. Cash and prizes are presented at the end of the day’s competition. Events are open to ages 12 and up, and all levels of experience. Artist's may not compete in more than 1 event per show.
Our events are supported by corporations, manufacturers, civic groups, businesses, and individuals, interested in preserving art and creativity as part of our American and Human heritage.
Digital art has replaced more than 90% of the images we see, mostly in the form of retouched photography and clip art. Not too long ago, these images were assigned to the skilled hands of traditional artists and illustrators. By keeping art "live" we hope to keep it "alive" in the ambitions and hopes of future generations and artist's!
